Cheri Oelke
Like so many other artists, I loved art when I was young, but set it aside as an adult while working and raising a faimily. When I retired in 2012, my co-workers set me on a creative path by giving me an easel and art supplies. After retirement, I took those gifts, along with my new gift of time, and began taking classes and attending art workshops. I soon adopted pastels as my main medium after attending a pastel workshop. The rich vibrant colors that can be achieved with pastels are unlike any other medium.
I live in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska with my husband, Tim. Pictures from our home, family and travels are often included in my artwork.
I also share my love of art by giving tours at the Joslyn Art Museum where I have been a docent since 2012.
