What a beautiful show at the JCC. Congratulations to the winners, and also to those who sold pieces. Thank you so much to our wonderful Art Show committee. Good job everyone! Coming up fast is our next art show at the Hot Shops, “The Artful Letter”. Carefully read the requirements regarding the theme and on what needs to be provided. Registration is Tuesday, February 27 from 11-1. Any questions please ask.
Included in this newsletter and in our website are applications for the Genie Schaefer and Omaha Artists Memorial Scholarships. You only have until February 28th to get an application to me. To date I have yet to receive an application. Remember, this is free money, and you can’t win if you don’t play. You don’t need to know what specific workshop you wish to attend, only the type or kind of workshop. The winners will be announced at our March meeting which will be at the Joslyn Art Museum.
Please note that application forms for our scholarships can be accessed on the website. If you do not have a specific course or workshop to designate when applying, describe the type of workshop you wish to attend. If you are a prior recipient of the Genie Schaefer Award you may not reapply, although the Omaha Artists, Inc. Memorial Scholarship winners may reapply after a five year span.
Looking forward to Susan Steven’s Fun Shop on Wednesday February 21 on watercolors. Susan won last years Omaha Memorial Scholarship and will share with us what she learned. Also please join us for lunch, meeting and program at Valentinos on Wednesday, February 28. Please make reservations for lunch if at all possible. You may still come if no reservations are made.
