Judith Rohwer

Judith Rohwer is a graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa, with bachelor degrees in art and elementary education. She taught fifth grade in Iowa, Utah, and at Brownell-Talbot College Preparatory School in Omaha, Nebraska. Now retired, she and her husband, Marvin, farm and work on their art at their home north of Omaha.

In 2003, they, along with former Washington County Historical Association curator, Susan Juza, created a display on Barns of Nebraska's Ethnic Communities that toured the state with the Smithsonian Barn Again exhibit.

The following year they researched and completed a life size diorama for the museum that depicts the plant and animal life in the area at the time of Lewis and Clark. It enabled the museum to be declared an official stop on the Lewis and Clark Trail in 2004.

In 2005, Judy's design for a county flag (left) was adopted by Washington County. Judy's paintings have won numerous awards, and are in homes throughout the United States.
