I have loved to draw and paint my entire life. Don't know for sure, but I may have been born with a tiny pencil in my left hand. Though mostly self-taught, I took art lessons at Joslyn Art Museum as a young girl and later studied with several well-known artists.
Pastels are my favorite medium, but I also love acrylics, oils and watercolors. Each painting tells me what it wants to be worked in. The subject can be anything that holds still long enough for a quick sketch or photo except for abstracts, which seem to come from who-knows-where. Many pieces are from my travels through all 48 continental states as well as the Canadian Provinces, gathering ideas from the beautiful world around us. Over the years I have given workshops in pastels and taught private art lessons.
My paintings are in private and corporate collections both here and abroad and I have been fortunate enough to win many awards. I especially enjoyed being selected as the artist for the "Omaha World-Herald Metro Guide" in 1999 and again in 2000. I am very aware, however, that any ability one may have is a gift of God, so I just paint away and have fun.
Though retired from gallery representations, I still enjoy entering art shows through Omaha Artists, Inc. I have been a member for 30 years and am a past-president. My husband Ken, Sarah the tuxedo cat and I live a quiet life in Omaha, NE with good neighbors, grown children and five grandkids.
