I have always loved art. Growing up I was fortunate to live near a city with a great art museum—Cleveland, Ohio.
I began oil painting seriously while living in Baltimore, MD. While there I took lessons in general oil and portrait painting with a private instructor.
When I moved to St. Louis, MO., I continued with lessons and won several prizes for my work.
Since I’ve lived in Omaha I’ve become a member and past president of Omaha Artists, Inc., a member of ANAC—Nebraska’s state art association, and taken private instructions as well as lessons from several instructors at the Joslyn Art Museum’s wonderful art program for adults. In Omaha I have also been awarded several prizes for my paintings.
I took a two week workshop in Italy in 2012 entitled “Painting on Panels”. We learned how to paint like the ancients did including, Encaustic, Casein, Tempera, and Venetian Oil. The workshop really helped my understanding of painting techniques.
My medium is oil. I do not work in pastels or watercolor.
I am glad to do portraits on commission from a good photograph as well as other subjects.
I am currently a member of The Portrait Society of America.
