All my life I have been drawn to all types of art. The wonderful colors, different mediums and awe inspiring creativity of it all!
Over the years, I have dabbled in many types of mediums, techniques and styles of art. Including but not limited to: colored pencil, oil pastels, charcoal, ink, clay and mixed media. Currently, I have taken my hand to oil painting! From the texture of the paint, the amazing colors and the versatility of various styles of canvas, I enjoy everything about oil painting!
My life’s experiences and my relationship with God have given me unlimited ideas for painting. You will find, my work includes various themed series but is eclectic as a whole. Influenced greatly by my life’s journey with vision loss, each one of my drawings, paintings and works of art have great meaning to me.
Since the age of 5, I have been diagnosed and live with an eye condition called Best’s disease (vitelliform macular degeneration). This retinal disease has caused obstructed sight, color cone loss and flashes of light in both of my eyes. When I look at anything it is as though I am looking through the hole of a donut. Unfortunately as the years have gone by, the disease has progressed; the donut hole has decreased, the “light shows” have increased and many other degenerative things have happened. My sight gives me huge challenges and influences all aspects of my artwork, but I persevere by the grace of God. I will not let the disease keep me from developing the creative talent and painting the visions God has given me.
Many of my pieces are spiritually inspired by my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I believe, God gives me vision and guides my hands while I work. With each stroke of my paintbrush, the paint takes me on a unique journey.
Each work of art has a great story to tell!
I pray my artwork brings hope, joy and blessing all who see it.
God has given me this talent and I give Him all the glory!
