Patricia J. Cink
Critics have described my watercolor paintings as "vibrant" depictions of light, color, atmosphere, and mood. Being a member of the Pleine Air painting group has developed my skills in capturing a vision and feelings of a place.
The selection of materials contributes to my style of painting. My materials are Yupo paper (a synthetic paper with a smooth, non absorbent surface), and Dr Ph. Marten's Hydros watercolor paints which give an intense transparent color. My palette is limited and does not include black, white, or brown. As I mix or layer colors, a multitude of variations in color happen without the horrible "mud" and flat colors which are so feared by artists.
My paintings are shown in regional art shows including the Omaha Artists shows, the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs show, the Celebrate the Hills Art Show in Moorhead, Iowa, the Western Iowa Art Show, the "Art in Bloom" show at Laurizen Gardens, and the Cathedral Show in Lincoln, Nebraska.
