Maxine Simons Burton
Maxine Simmons Burton was born and raised on the island of Bermuda. It was there that she developed her eye for color and an appreciation for natural beauty. From the performing to the visual arts, Maxine had no memory in her life of any time that has not included some for of creative expression.
While creating her artwork, Maxine experiences a peace and calmness which she translates through textured brush strokes and soothing colors. Quiet places, tender moments, and cuddly creatures are often her inspiration. Maxine hopes that the expression of these special moments and feelings captured on canvas are as healing to the viewer as the creation process was for her. She finds fulfillment in knowing that her spirit has touched the lives of others through her artwork.
