“The Illustrated Song”

GOOD NEWS - WE WILL BE AT THE HOT SHOPS 1301 GALLERY NEXT OCTOBER!!!

For this theme, find some lyrics to a song that you would like to illustrate – ( up to 150 words) – it could be the chorus, or a verse – and you will again have to do some typing – type up the title to the song along with the words that you are illustrating, so we can print this up and put next to your piece of art. This should not feel too restrictive – after all, there are so many themes – but it should be a fun way to come up with ideas for your art.

Spring Show 2014

GOOD NEWS FOR SPRING, 2014!

Instead of being at The Designers, we will have a show at Lauritzen Gardens in May of 2014!

There has to be a botanical expression in your artwork for this show whether it be a true botanical rendering, or a garden scene, or a landscape – some type of plant life must be in the depiction.

We are excited to have a show at the prestigious Omaha Botanical Gardens!

Standards for Exhibiting Artwork in Omaha Artists Inc.

Important Notice:

The entry fee for all future art shows will be $15 for up to three art pieces. This was recommended by the art show committee and passed by the executive board at our January meeting.

Attention Artists:

Clarification of the Barb Linder Watercolor Award – the art show committee has decided that watercolor shall include water color pencil. If painting includes the use of ink, it will be classified as mixed media. We feel this is what Barb would have wanted for this award named in her honor.

The art Show Committee has decided to allow art work from art workshops, funshops, etc. as long as you have done the entire work yourself, and it is 100% original. Sometimes, we are at workshops and do the work ourselves, using what we learn at the workshop, but the piece is our original work. We think it is unfair to bar this type of art. If you have any questions, please feel free to call anyone on the art committee.
